Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono emphasized that sustainable infrastructure development requires support through innovation, investment, and synergy among the government, the business sector, academia, and international partners. "The government cannot act alone; collaboration is needed between the central government, regional governments, academia, and the business industry," Coordinating Minister Agus said during a joint statement regarding the Indo Water 2026 Expo & Forum in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Water security stands as a top national development priority, ranking alongside food and energy security. Coordinating Minister Agus noted that water self-sufficiency—or water security—is not merely a secondary issue in Indonesia; rather, the government has positioned it as a primary priority. "President Prabowo Subianto places food, energy, and water on the same level of importance," he stated. He explained that the government is targeting water self-sufficiency through the expansion of urban clean water access, reliable agricultural irrigation infrastructure, watershed conservation, and the use of integrated data analytics to realize the "Golden Indonesia 2045" vision. "Water security is not merely a vision but a reality that we can enjoy as an increasingly advanced and prosperous nation," said Coordinating Minister AHY. Meanwhile, PT Napindo Media Ashatama (Napindo) held the Indo Water 2026 Expo & Forum—organized concurrently with Indo Waste & Recycling, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex, and the Indonesia International Smart City 2026 Expo & Forum—at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta, earlier this week.
