The Indonesian textile and fashion sector is actively strengthening its export readiness by adapting to the upcoming Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements enforced across European and UK markets. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) in partnership with the Indonesian Embassy in London, the initiative aims to enhance supply chain transparency, traceability, and product sustainability. From January to May 2026, Indonesia’s textile and textile product (TPT) exports reached USD 4.79 billion, generating a trade surplus of USD 962 million, with UK exports growing by 2.43% year-on-year.
This strategic alignment reinforces Indonesia's position as a competitive, high-value manufacturing hub in international textile markets. Supply chain strategists, textile logistics coordinators, and global fashion procurement officers should closely monitor these compliance benchmarks. As the EU prepares for phased DPP enforcement beginning in 2027, integrating digital product passports will be essential for maintaining seamless market access and strengthening brand trust across European distribution networks.
