President Prabowo Subianto projected Indonesia’s economy to grow between 5.8% and 6.5% in 2027, supported by strategic economic reforms, stronger industrial downstreaming, and sustainable fiscal management. The government aims to strengthen national competitiveness by optimizing natural resource processing, improving export systems, and encouraging higher private sector participation. The administration also targets continued progress toward achieving long-term economic growth of 8% by 2029 while maintaining macroeconomic stability and investor confidence.
In addition to growth expansion, the government plans to improve public welfare through lower poverty and unemployment rates, while maintaining a fiscal deficit target between 1.8% and 2.4% of GDP. State revenue is projected to rise alongside stronger industrial productivity and export performance. Prabowo emphasized that economic growth should deliver broad benefits to communities, support job creation, and reinforce Indonesia’s position as one of the leading economies in Southeast Asia.
