Government Establishes Export Control Agency to Combat Under-Invoicing

The Indonesian government has announced the establishment of a specialized Export Control Agency designed to eradicate under-invoicing practices within the national trade sector. This strategic regulatory move aims to protect state revenues and ensure fair market competition by preventing exporters from misreporting the true value of their shipped commodities. By implementing stricter monitoring and advanced verification systems, the newly formed body will enforce greater transparency across the supply chain, ensuring that national export data accurately reflects real market values.

Industry associations have acknowledged the government's decisive action, noting that tackling under-invoicing is crucial for maintaining the integrity and reputation of Indonesia's trade ecosystem. The agency's oversight is expected to curb illicit financial flows and secure vital foreign exchange earnings for the state budget. Moving forward, the government plans to integrate this regulatory body with customs and financial institutions, fostering a more transparent, accountable, and legally compliant environment for both domestic businesses and international trading partners.
