Indonesia is strengthening efforts to build a more integrated ecosystem for local intellectual property (IP) development to improve national competitiveness and expand global market opportunities. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized the importance of collaboration among government institutions, businesses, communities, media, academia, and financial institutions to help local IP products grow into sustainable global brands rooted in Indonesian cultural values.
The government is also encouraging stronger commercialization and audience engagement strategies for local IP creators to ensure long-term business sustainability beyond social media popularity. Officials highlighted Indonesia’s cultural diversity as a valuable foundation for developing innovative creative products capable of competing internationally. Through continuous support, exposure platforms, and ecosystem development, Indonesia aims to strengthen its creative economy and empower local creators on the global stage.
