Indonesia Offers Strategic Green Investment Partnerships at IETA Forum

Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a key player in the global green economy during a business forum with the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) in New York. The Ministry of Forestry highlighted Indonesia’s vast tropical forest resources and emphasized opportunities for international partnerships in climate investment and sustainable forestry businesses. The government also introduced Forestry Minister Regulation No. 6 of 2026, which provides stronger legal certainty for carbon credit production and trading across various forestry sectors.

Indonesia is also expanding multi-business forestry schemes that include non-timber forest products, ecotourism, and biomass energy to strengthen Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) value for investors. Industry representatives expressed readiness to accelerate high-integrity carbon market initiatives that can deliver both ecological and economic benefits. Through stronger regulations, transparent governance, and collaboration with global institutions, Indonesia aims to enhance international confidence in its carbon economy and support the FOLU Net Sink 2030 target.
