Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry is accelerating the downstream development of the national essential oil sector through the establishment of the Flavor and Fragrance Center (PFF) in Bali. The center is designed to become a hub for innovation, training, and business incubation, supporting the production of high-value products such as perfumes, aromatherapy items, cosmetics, spa products, and natural household goods. The initiative reflects Indonesia’s strong potential in the flavor, fragrance, and wellness industries, supported by the country’s rich biodiversity and abundant essential oil resources.
The government is also focusing on workforce development through various training and certification programs related to perfume blending, aromatherapy products, and wellness manufacturing. Several upcoming programs in 2026 will include training for perfume creation, aromatherapy soaps, candles, and incense products. The development of PFF is expected to enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global wellness and fragrance market while creating greater added value for domestic essential oil commodities and supporting local creative industries.
