The Indonesian government is intensifying efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the cosmetics, perfume, and wellness industries as part of a broader strategy to strengthen national industrial growth. Officials highlight that Indonesia’s large productive-age population and expanding domestic demand create strong opportunities for the sector to develop into a key economic pillar. Supportive policies, capacity building, and ecosystem strengthening are being implemented to help local producers scale up and compete internationally.
The industry is also being pushed to improve innovation, production standards, and use of local raw materials in order to meet global market requirements. With a growing number of small and medium enterprises dominating the sector, the government sees strong potential for Indonesian brands to expand exports and increase value-added contributions. This strategy is expected to reinforce Indonesia’s position in the global cosmetics and wellness market while supporting sustainable economic growth.
