Hong Kong-based Hoi Fu Paper Packaging has initiated the construction of a new paper packaging facility in Indonesia’s Kendal Special Economic Zone (SEZ), with an investment valued at approximately USD 64.6 million (around IDR 1.12 trillion). This project highlights growing international confidence in Indonesia’s manufacturing sector and strategic position within regional supply chains. The facility is expected to generate up to 1,000 jobs, with about 95% allocated to local workers, supporting inclusive economic growth.
Beyond direct employment, the investment is projected to stimulate broader economic activity, including opportunities in logistics and small and medium enterprises. Kendal SEZ continues to demonstrate strong performance, having attracted significant cumulative investment and created tens of thousands of jobs, reinforcing its role as a key industrial hub. The expansion reflects Indonesia’s proactive approach to fostering a resilient and competitive investment environment amid evolving global dynamics.
