The Indonesian government is fast-tracking the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Bali to establish the province as a premier international financial center. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, alongside key investment officials, recently emphasized the strategic expansion of the Kura Kura Bali and Sanur SEZs. This initiative aims to position Indonesia as a competitive player in the global financial landscape, utilizing the Kura Kura Bali SEZ as a "Special Financial Center" (SFC) designed to attract high-tier international investments and institutional partnerships.
The project focuses on integrating world-class physical infrastructure with robust institutional frameworks to create a seamless ecosystem for global finance and health tourism. By accelerating these strategic zones, the government intends to curb capital outflow and foster new economic drivers beyond traditional tourism. This transformation is expected to significantly boost regional growth and strengthen Indonesia's national economic resilience amidst global shifts, marking a pivotal step in the country's long-term development strategy.
