BPJPH and Ministry of Trade Coordinate Mandatory Halal Certification for Import-Export Products

The Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the Ministry of Trade are intensively coordinating the implementation of mandatory halal certification for products entering and leaving the Indonesian market. This strategic collaboration aims to ensure that all imported and exported goods comply with the national regulatory framework for halal assurance. Officials emphasize that a synchronized approach between these two bodies is essential to prevent trade disruptions while maintaining consumer protection. By streamlining the certification process, the government intends to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a global leader in the halal industry ecosystem.

The government is focusing on harmonizing technical standards with international trading partners to facilitate smoother cross-border transactions. Strategic dialogues are being held to provide clarity for global exporters regarding Indonesia’s specific halal documentation and labeling requirements. Collaborative efforts also involve the digitalization of certification services to enhance transparency and reduce the administrative burden on business players. Moving forward, the synergy between robust halal regulations and proactive trade facilitation will be a decisive factor in boosting the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global halal market throughout 2026.
