Indonesia reported 633 new factory development plans in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting robust industrial expansion and investor confidence. The Ministry of Industry stated that these projects are valued at approximately IDR 418.62 trillion (USD 25 billion) and are expected to generate around 219,684 jobs, reinforcing the sector’s role as a key driver of economic growth and employment.
The surge in factory plans highlights Indonesia’s continued appeal as a manufacturing hub, supported by improving infrastructure, policy incentives, and downstream industrial strategies. Authorities remain optimistic that this positive trend will strengthen national competitiveness, attract further investment, and accelerate sustainable industrial development across the country.
