Indonesia has recorded investment commitments totaling around IDR570 trillion (USD32.3 billion) from Japan and South Korea, highlighting strong international confidence in the country’s economic outlook. The figure was presented to President Prabowo Subianto during a high-level meeting in Jakarta, where officials also discussed investment performance and forward-looking opportunities across key sectors.
The government reported that investment realization in the first quarter of 2026 reached IDR498.79 trillion, surpassing its target and growing by 7.22% year-on-year. This growth has contributed to significant job creation, with employment absorption rising by 18.93% to more than 700,000 workers. Both domestic and foreign investments contributed almost equally, with major inflows directed to sectors such as mining, infrastructure, telecommunications, and industrial development, supporting Indonesia’s strategy to enhance value-added industries and sustainable economic growth.
