Indonesia has successfully strengthened energy cooperation with Russia, resulting in additional access to crude oil reserves and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies. The agreement was reached following high-level diplomatic engagement and a bilateral meeting between Indonesia’s Energy and Mineral Resources Minister and Russian counterparts in Moscow, as part of broader efforts to reinforce national energy security amid global market uncertainty.
Through this cooperation, Russia has expressed readiness to support Indonesia’s energy needs by supplying crude oil, LPG, and potentially contributing to storage infrastructure development. The arrangement is expected to enhance Indonesia’s energy resilience by diversifying import sources and increasing supply stability. Officials emphasized that the partnership is designed to provide more certainty for domestic energy availability while supporting long-term strategic cooperation between both countries in the energy sector.
