Indonesian Textile Industry Targets Export Growth Amidst New Tariff Policy Adjustments

The Indonesian textile and garment industry is recalibrating its export targets in response to the latest international trade tariff policies. Industry leaders are optimistic that strategic adjustments in pricing and production efficiency will allow local products to remain competitive in major markets like the United States and Europe. The government is actively negotiating more favorable trade terms to mitigate the impact of rising global protectionism on domestic textile manufacturers. By focusing on high-value-added products, the sector aims to maintain its significant contribution to the national non-oil and gas export balance.

The Ministry of Industry is facilitating the modernization of textile machinery to enhance the quality and sustainability of local fabrics. Collaborative initiatives between private stakeholders and trade agencies are focusing on diversifying export destinations toward emerging markets in Africa and the Middle East. Strategic incentives are also being introduced to encourage the use of eco-friendly materials, aligning with the growing global demand for sustainable fashion. Moving forward, the synergy between supportive fiscal policies and industrial innovation will be crucial in helping the Indonesian textile sector navigate the complexities of international trade barriers.
