Indonesia’s Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, has expressed a strong vision to position the country as a global food superpower, emphasizing national unity to strengthen long-term food security and resilience. He highlighted that Indonesia is currently in a solid position with stable resources across water, food, energy, and protein sectors, supporting a broader push toward self-sufficiency under national leadership.
The country has demonstrated significant progress, with rice reserves reaching 4.5 million tons and projected to rise to 6 million tons within two months—marking an increase of around 200% compared to previous years. Alongside improving export performance and declining import dependency, farmer welfare has reached its highest level since independence, reflecting positive momentum in the agricultural sector.
