Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of USD 1.27 billion in February 2026, with exports reaching USD 22.17 billion and imports at USD 20.89 billion, according to official data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Export performance showed a positive annual increase of 1.01%, mainly supported by non-oil and gas sectors.
Key contributors to export growth included commodities such as vegetable oils, nickel and its derivatives, as well as electrical machinery and equipment. At the same time, imports also expanded by 10.85% year-on-year, largely driven by higher imports of capital goods, which rose significantly and indicate strengthening domestic investment and industrial activity.
