The Deputy Minister of Trade has highlighted the significant potential of the Lobam Fashion Industrial Center in Bintan to become a major contributor to Indonesia’s textile exports. During a recent supervisory visit, the Ministry noted that the high quality of craftsmanship and production capacity in this zone meets the standards required by international markets. The government is committed to providing strategic support to local manufacturers to ensure their products can compete effectively on a global scale. By leveraging Batam and Bintan’s status as a free trade zone, fashion enterprises in Lobam are uniquely positioned to serve as a primary hub for apparel distribution across the region.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of design innovation and sustainable production practices to attract a broader consumer base in Europe and the United States. Collaborative programs, including export coaching and business matching, are being intensified to bridge the gap between local producers and global fashion distributors. The government also aims to simplify the logistical and administrative processes to facilitate a more seamless export flow for SMEs operating within the industrial park. Moving forward, the development of Lobam as a dedicated fashion industrial center is expected to drive regional economic growth and bolster the nation’s non-oil and gas trade performance.
