Two Indonesian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have successfully recorded an export potential of USD 150,000 for canned gudeg and processed coconut milk in the Dutch market. This significant milestone was achieved through a virtual business matching session facilitated by the Indonesian Trade Attaché in The Hague. PT Risquna Dewaksara and PT Aloe Vera Indonesia established a strategic connection with Interaromat BV, a prominent importer in the Netherlands. The increasing demand for plant-based and ethnic foods in Europe presents a substantial opportunity for Indonesian traditional products to expand their international footprint.
The Indonesian Trade Attaché emphasized that displaying product samples at the Indonesia House Amsterdam will be crucial for further market introduction to European buyers. SMEs are encouraged to maintain strict quality standards and consistent supply to compete effectively within the European food import regulations. Furthermore, the success of these processed food products highlights the growing global appreciation for authentic Indonesian culinary heritage. Moving forward, the government remains committed to supporting local businesses through continuous monitoring and strategic trade promotion initiatives.
