The Fishery Exchange Value (NTNP) for Gorontalo Province reached 111.87 in February 2026, marking a notable 3.06 percent increase from the previous month. This upward trend was primarily driven by a significant 4.55 percent rise in the price index received by local producers, outperforming the increase in their expenditure index. Both capture fisheries and aquaculture sectors contributed to this growth, with the aquaculture sector specifically seeing a 6.33 percent increase in revenue potential. These figures highlight the improving economic welfare of fishers and aquaculture businesses within the region as productivity and market prices align favorably.
Specifically, the Fish Cultivator Exchange Value (NTPi) surged by 5.22 percent, largely bolstered by the fresh water aquaculture group, including tilapia and shrimp commodities. While household consumption costs and production expenses rose slightly, they were effectively offset by the strong revenue gains from these high-demand aquatic products. For the capture fishery sector, the Fishery Exchange Value (NTN) also rose by 2.85 percent, reflecting stable operational conditions and favorable selling prices for regional catches. This data provided by BPS Gorontalo underscores the province's potential as a robust hub for sustainable and profitable maritime and inland fishery enterprises
