Indonesia’s Export Performance Records Significant Growth in January 2026

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported that national export performance in January 2026 reached USD 22.16 billion, marking a 3.39 percent year-on-year increase. This positive growth was primarily driven by the non-oil and gas sector, which accounted for USD 21.26 billion of the total value. Key commodities contributing to this surge included animal and vegetable fats, nickel products, and electrical machinery equipment. This upward trajectory reflects the resilience of Indonesia's industrial sector despite fluctuations in the global energy market.

Furthermore, the non-oil and gas sector experienced a robust 4.38 percent growth, offsetting the decline observed in oil and gas exports. Specific commodities such as nickel saw a significant rise of 42.04 percent, underscoring Indonesia's strengthening position in the global supply chain. BPS officials highlighted that these results provide a strong foundation for the country's economic momentum throughout the first quarter of the year. Industry stakeholders are encouraged to capitalize on these gains by further diversifying high-value manufactured products for international markets.
