Indonesia has successfully tapped USD 3.5 billion from the Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETP) and Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) programs to advance its green economy initiatives. Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, highlighted that Indonesia’s total JETP allocation reaches USD 21.4 billion, while AZEC contributes USD 500 million. This funding will support projects enhancing energy resilience and accelerating decarbonization efforts, reflecting the government’s strong commitment to a sustainable future.
The government plans to leverage Indonesia’s 3,686 gigawatts of renewable energy potential to develop a 70-kilometer “green supergrid,” alongside Waste-to-Energy Power Plants set to launch in March 2026. Key downstream industrial projects, including electric vehicle batteries, solar panels, B40–B50 biodiesel, Sustainable Aviation Fuels, hydrogen, green ammonia, and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS/CCUS) applications, will also benefit. These initiatives are projected to generate up to 4.4 million new jobs by 2029, reinforcing Indonesia’s priorities in energy resilience and sustainable economic growth.
