The manufacturing industry continues to solidify its position as the largest contributor to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), reaching 5.30 percent by the end of 2025. The Minister of Industry emphasized that this achievement is the result of the hard work of the domestic industrial sector, which remained stable and grew consistently despite challenging global economic dynamics. This positive growth demonstrates that manufacturing remains the primary contributor to the national economy compared to other sectors. With a significantly upward trend, the manufacturing sector proves its role as a pillar of stability and the engine of Indonesia's future economic progress.
For association members and business players, this growth was strongly driven by the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Textile Industries (IKFT) sector, which recorded a 5.11 percent growth. The pharmaceutical and traditional medicine subsector became the standout performer with a growth surge of 8.35 percent, reflecting high market demand for science-based health products. In addition to stellar production performance, the IKFT sector also successfully recorded a trade balance surplus with export values reaching US$49.15 billion from January to November 2025. The increase in exports of chemical materials and daily footwear products further strengthens optimism that Indonesia's non-oil and gas industries can compete competitively and sustainably on the international stage.
