On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the Pekalongan Branch of the Nahdlatul Ulama Scholars Association (PC ISNU) officially formed a strategic collaboration with the Halal Center Journal (JHC), which is managed under the Halal Assurance Body (LPH) of UIN KH Abdurrahman Wahid (UIN Gus Dur) Pekalongan. The partnership was formalized through a cooperation agreement signed by the Chair of PC ISNU Pekalongan, Moh Nasrudin, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Halal Center Journal, Hendri Hermawan Adinugraha. According to Nasrudin, this cooperation reflects PC ISNU’s vision of being Empowered and Impactful, recognizing the large potential of NU scholars in Pekalongan to contribute to research and literacy in halal studies. He emphasized that both parties agreed to leverage and empower expertise and human resources from ISNU and JHC for advancing halal research.
Dr. Hendri welcomed the collaboration as a strategic partnership to support both institutions in fulfilling their roles and functions, particularly in managing the journal. He highlighted that contributions from ISNU intellectuals are crucial for publishing scholarly articles and expanding awareness of the Halal Center Journal across academic circles and the wider community. The cooperation agreement includes various key points such as sharing expertise and experience to develop the journal, supporting the scientific publication process, promoting the journal within academic and public networks, and conducting joint programs aimed at improving journal quality and accreditation. The partnership is expected to accelerate halal product assurance literacy in Indonesia, especially in Pekalongan, and to strengthen PC ISNU and UIN Gus Dur Pekalongan’s roles as reference centers for scientific study and development in halal topics.
