Indonesian President Joko Widodo has said Indonesia will prove that its economic growth for 2021 will be higher than forecasts given by international economic and financial bodies. Addressing the Indonesia Economy Outlook Forum on February 25, Widodo said the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) have forecast that Indonesia’s economy will grow by about 4-5 percent this year.

He believed that Indonesia's economic recovery would hinge largely on the disciplined application of health protocols, including wearing face mask, maintaining physical distance, and washing hands, as well as the implementation of the 3T policy of testing, tracing, and treatment.

According to him, Indonesia is among the leading countries in Asia to be conducting COVID-19 vaccination. The government has allotted about 372 trillion rupiah (26.5 billion USD) from the State budget to accelerate national economic recovery. He added that different economic indicators have so far improved
