Indonesia is targeting an increase in its coffee exports to Switzerland, building on the fact that in 2024 exports already exceeded 25 million US dollars (around IDR 415 billion), said the Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Ngurah Swajaya. This effort is being advanced by showcasing Indonesian coffee companies during the Swiss Coffee Festival 2025 held in Zurich on 22–23 November 2025, according to a written statement from KBRI Bern.
Through participation in the festival, Indonesia seeks to introduce its specialty coffee and strengthen the reputation of premium Indonesian coffee among Swiss consumers, while also expanding business networks between the two countries. Four Indonesian coffee firms — JYN Coffee, Edel Coffee, Jawa Uno, and NOD — presented a variety of Indonesian coffees. The exhibit highlighted everything from specialty beans like Flores Bajawa and Aceh Gayo to innovation, such as Indonesia’s first environmentally friendly coffee-capsule machine, also capable of brewing tea and traditional herbal drinks. The strong interest from attendees, according to NOD’s R&D Head, shows that this is a promising moment to showcase Indonesia’s diverse coffee heritage on the Swiss — and by extension European — market.
