Indonesia has made significant strides in the global halal economy, ranking third in overall performance according to the State of the Global Islamic Economy 2024–2025 report. Chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Muhammad Qodari highlighted that Indonesian halal products are increasingly recognized for their quality in major international markets. The KSP plays a key role as both overseer and accelerator of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority policies, focusing on strengthening the national halal ecosystem through MSME certification acceleration, coordination across ministries, and the development of halal industrial zones. Additional initiatives include promoting halal economic diplomacy, integrating digital services for transparency, and supporting halal-linked tourism. These efforts align with the President’s Asta Cita mission and the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), emphasizing economic independence through a competitive and high-quality halal sector.
Ahmad Haikal Hasan, Head of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), welcomed the KSP’s continued support, noting that sustained collaboration is expected to accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s halal ecosystem and enhance global competitiveness. As of November 21, 2025, 10.3 million products had received halal certification, supported by 116 Halal Inspection Bodies (LPH) and 339 Halal Product Process Assistance Institutions (LP3H). Indonesia has also established mutual recognition agreements with 98 international halal organizations, further strengthening its position in the global halal market. Together, these initiatives demonstrate Indonesia’s commitment to building a robust, high-quality, and internationally recognized halal economy that contributes to both domestic prosperity and global trade.
