Indonesia has strengthened its global standing in the Islamic economy, securing third place in the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2024–2025. The recognition reflects the nation’s ongoing efforts to expand halal product exports, advance digital certification, and enhance international cooperation. Presidential Staff Office Chief Muhammad Qodari stated that this milestone shows Indonesia’s halal products are increasingly trusted and accepted by major global halal consumer markets. The government continues to prioritize initiatives that accelerate halal certification for MSMEs, support halal industrial zone development, strengthen halal economic diplomacy, and promote digital solutions that improve transparency and service quality. These initiatives align with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita mission and the RPJMN 2025–2029, which emphasize economic independence through a robust and competitive halal ecosystem.
The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) also reports significant progress, having issued 3 million halal certificates covering 10.3 million products as of November 21, 2025. This growth is supported by an extensive national ecosystem consisting of 116 Halal Inspection Agencies, 2,339 Halal Product Process Assistance Agencies, more than 107,000 Product Process Assistants, over 25,000 trained halal supervisors, and 3,255 certified halal slaughterers. BPJPH has also established mutual recognition agreements with 98 international halal bodies, further strengthening Indonesia’s global positioning. Both Qodari and BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan emphasized that continued collaboration across institutions will play a key role in accelerating national economic resilience through a high-quality, competitive halal ecosystem that supports both domestic growth and international market expansion.
