Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) agreed to enhance strategic partnerships in the economic, investment and energy sectors when they met at Al-Salam Palace, Jeddah, on 2 July 2025. In a joint statement, they highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in priority sectors and supporting private participation through the Saudi-Indonesian Business Council. Over the past five years, the value of trade between the two countries reached USD 31.5 billion, making Saudi Arabia a key strategic partner in the region.
The deal also includes joint investments worth USD 27 billion, focused on clean energy, petrochemicals, aviation fuel services, the health sector-including pharmaceutical technology and vaccines-as well as strengthening Hajj and Umrah health services. The two leaders reflected on their shared visions, namely Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 and Indonesia Golden 2045, as the basis for cross-sector synergies. Cooperation was extended to defence, cybersecurity, education, tourism and renewable energy, with the hope of accelerating economic transformation and creating opportunities for increased trade and investment between the two countries.
