The Ministry of Transmigration is poised to initiate five flagship programmes in the Lembantongoa Village Transmigration Area, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. One of its most prominent products is coffee. This programme is a testament to the central government's commitment to enhancing the welfare of the region's population and is expected to stimulate economic growth in the area. The five flagship programmes are: Trans Tuntas, Trans Lokal, Trans Patriot, Trans Karya Nusantara, and Trans Gotong Royong. During a dialogue with local residents, the Transmigration Minister, Iftitah, revealed that the Lembantongoa Village Transmigration Area produces 200 kilograms of coffee per month, with each kilogram being priced at IDR 65,000. The main harvest typically occurs annually between September and December, with yields of up to 300 kilograms. Residents of Lembantongoa Village also have their market as an off-taker.
At present, coffee processing is expanding in order to meet demand for roasted robusta beans (1 tonne) and arabica beans (200 kilograms). Market demand is expected to reach 2 tonnes per month within the next 1-2 years. Iftitah emphasised the importance of expert guidance in the development of potential transmigration areas. Through the Patriot Expedition Team in the Patriot Transmigration Programme, the transmigration area will receive guidance from experts, and its flagship products will be researched to ensure they have economic value and are competitive, thereby contributing to national economic growth. The Transmigration Minister, Iftitah, has announced that the Transmigration Area will have its own "Google" and walking dictionary. Involving higher education is key to bringing in intelligent individuals who can provide different perspectives and understand the value. This will help to build and develop the potential in the region.
