From 4 to 6 June 2025, the Taiwan International Trade Administration (International Trade Administration), the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs (Ministry of Economic Affairs) and industry associations in Taiwan held the Plastics, Rubber & Composite Material Fair Taiwan (PMT) 2025 at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre (ICC) in Tainan, Taiwan. PMT 2025 is the largest and only exhibition in Taiwan that is specifically dedicated to plastic, rubber, and composite materials on the global stage. PMT 2025 attracted approximately 250 exhibitors and over 9,000 visitors from 40 countries. On the first day, Indonesian polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic pellets achieved potential transactions worth USD 582,000, or approximately IDR 9.4 billion.
The Head of the Indonesian Trade and Economic Office (KDEI) in Taipei, Arif Sulistiyo, is optimistic that Indonesia's participation in this exhibition will showcase potential export opportunities for plastic, rubber, and composite materials in the Taiwanese market. Moreover, he anticipates that Indonesia's involvement in this exhibition will unveil novel prospects and consolidate the standing of Indonesian products in both the Taiwanese and global markets. At PMT 2025, the Indonesian Pavilion showcased a range of flagship products, including plastic packaging raw materials and plastic pellets. These products exemplified innovation, quality, and global competitiveness while prioritising sustainability based on environmental friendliness. The Indonesian Pavilion features nine Indonesian businesses affiliated with three associations: the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI); the Indonesian Olefin, Aromatic, and Plastic Industry Association (INAPLAS); and the Indonesian Biaxially Oriented Films Association (ABOFI).
