PT. Minaqu Indonesia officially released its first export of burnt rice husks to the Netherlands on Tuesday, April 30th, 2025. The shipment of 8,925 kilograms of burnt rice husks from Bogor City, West Java, became a historical milestone in the utilization of agricultural waste as a high-value export commodity. This export received direct assistance from Bogor Customs, which functions as a trade facilitator and supervisor of the export process. The presence of Customs ensures that all stages of shipping are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. Burnt rice husks are the result of processing burnt rice husk waste and used as a planting medium and environmentally friendly alternative fuel. Although not yet widely viewed as an export product, PT Minaqu Indonesia has succeeded in seizing this opportunity and promoting it as a new superior commodity that is worthy of competing in the global market.
Previously known as an ornamental plant exporter, PT. Minaqu Indonesia is now expanding its business portfolio by targeting the international market through agricultural waste processing. The release of this first export received support from various parties, including the Ministry of Trade, the West Java Provincial Government, and the Bogor City Government. Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti, also attended the event and expressed her appreciation for this achievement. "This success is clear evidence that local Indonesian products are competitive and have received global recognition," said Dyah. She also emphasized the importance of collaboration between business actors and government agencies, starting from the role of the Quarantine Agency in maintaining product quality, to the contribution of Customs in facilitating the export process. The Head of the Bogor Customs Office, Budi Harjanto, emphasized that his institution will continue to support business actors, especially MSMEs, so that they are able to expand their market reach abroad.
