On 15 April 2025, the Provincial Governments of Lampung and DKI Jakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding to improve and expand the market for agricultural and livestock products in DKI Jakarta. In addition, the objective is to strengthen Lampung's position as a national food barn, contributing significantly to the supply of rice, corn, cassava, chicken, bananas and pineapples, as well as increasing farmers' incomes. Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal has stated that the collaborative efforts between the two provincial governments represent a concrete step towards accelerating the transformation of public services in Lampung Province, given the adoption of the Jakarta Provincial Government's JAKI Super Apps, which have proven to be a successful digital assistant for the community. Mirza has stated that the development of the JAKI application could serve as an initial point for broader collaboration.

Furthermore, there is significant potential for Lampung to develop as a key food production hub. DKI Jakarta, with its population of over 11 million, is a major consumer area and is highly dependent on food supplies from outside the region. Integrated, efficient and digital management of logistics, distribution and trade systems between Lampung and Jakarta is key to ensuring the prosperity of farmers and businesses in Lampung, while ensuring the reliable supply of quality food to Jakarta at affordable prices. This collaboration has the potential to achieve several key outcomes. Firstly, it should result in a reduction of inter-provincial logistics costs. Secondly, it should enhance market access for farmers and micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in Lampung. Thirdly, it should increase public service satisfaction through standardised digitalisation. Finally, it should accelerate digital economic transformation in the Lampung region.
