On 16 April 2025, UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili presented an investment guide in the tourism sector titled Tourism Doing Business Investing in Indonesia to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana on the second day of the 37th CAP-CSA meeting at Hotel Mulia, South Jakarta. The guide is a comprehensive resource that provides a range of information, including potential investment locations, tax and legal frameworks. It is utilised by the UN Tourism and Indonesia as a promotional document to potential investors interested in exploring investment opportunities in Indonesia.
The Government of Indonesia and UN Tourism will be conducting road shows in a number of countries with the aim of attracting investors to Indonesia. Deputy for Resources and Institutions of the Ministry of Tourism Martini M. Paham stated that Indonesia was the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to receive a free investment guide from UN Tourism. UN Tourism has produced paid investment guides for 22 countries worldwide. The reason why the Indonesian government received a free investment guide from the organisation was that Indonesia hosted the 37th session of the UN Commission on Tourism for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Commission on Tourism for South Asia (CAP-CSA). Furthermore, the positive relationship between Indonesia and the UN Tourism organisation has prompted the latter to offer complimentary guidance to Indonesia.
