The Regent of Batu Bara Oversees Industry MoU, New Direction for Water Processing and Local Exports

In an effort to strengthen collaboration among industry players and boost regional economic growth, the Regent of Batu Bara, H. Baharuddin Siagian, S.H., M.Si, attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan and NR Chemical & Organic Industry (M) SDN BHD. The event took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Second Floor Meeting Room of the Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal, Sei Suka District. This MoU marks a strategic step in enhancing cooperation within the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Zone, particularly in clean water processing.


Through this partnership, both companies have agreed to develop water treatment technologies that can process water from rivers and industrial waste. This initiative is expected to benefit not only the industrial zone but also positively impact the surrounding community in Batu Bara Regency. In his speech, Regent Baharuddin expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan and NRCO, emphasizing the importance of similar partnerships in other sectors, including exports, to improve the welfare of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region. The event was attended by key figures, including NRCO's Managing Director, Susanto from PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan, the Consul General of Malaysia, and various officials from Batu Bara's local government. This MoU is a testament to PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan's commitment to expanding environmentally friendly industries with social impact, with full support from Inalum in line with sustainable development goals in Batu Bara Regency.
