On April 13th 2025, the Indonesian pavilion was inaugurated at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. Themed 'Thriving in Harmony - Nature, Culture, Future', the event draws inspiration from Indonesia's rich maritime heritage and will run for the next six months. World Expo 2025 Osaka features 157 countries and 7 international institutions showcasing their excellence and opportunities for economic and cultural cooperation. The Indonesian pavilion features a multisensory journey, bringing together tradition and technology to express the aspirations of the Golden Indonesia 2045 (Indonesia Emas 2045).
At the opening of the Indonesian pavilion, the Indonesian Minister of National Development Planning highlighted that Indonesia's participation is a strategic opportunity for economic and cultural diplomacy, serving as a platform to attract investment, enhance global competitiveness, strengthen international cooperation and accelerate progress towards sustainable development driven by innovation, sustainability and shared prosperity. The event also presents a valuable opportunity for the diversification and expansion of business opportunities. The Indonesian government is encouraging foreign investment in its emerging and strategic sectors, including agriculture, to ensure food security and green technology to drive the energy transition. The Indonesian pavilion showcases the country's renowned creative economy sectors, namely fashion and design, and eco-tourism. The Indonesian government is eager to establish strategic partnerships that encourage innovation, facilitate technology transfer and promote knowledge exchange. Collaboration is key to improving competitiveness and increasing exports of high-value and sustainable products.
