President Prabowo & President MBZ Witness the Signing of the RI–UAE Cooperation MoU

President Prabowo Subianto and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) witnessed the signing of eight memorandums of understanding (MoU) and Letters of Intent between Indonesia and the UAE. The signing was carried out at the end of the bilateral meeting of the two heads of state at the Qasr Al Watan Palace, Abu Dhabi, Wednesday, April 9th, 2025. This signing marks a concrete step in strengthening strategic relations between Indonesia and the UAE in various important sectors. Starting from defense, energy, maritime, to religion and private investment.

Four of the eight MoUs are intergovernmental cooperation covering: 1) Defense Sector; 2) Nature and Climate Partnership; 3) Maritime and Fisheries Cooperation; 4) Security and Counterterrorism; 5) Cooperation in the Field of Islam and Waqf. Meanwhile, four other collaborations involve the private sector and energy: 1) Investment in milk production; 2) Agreement between 90 Degree General Trading LLC and PT Pindad; 3) Additional capacity of Sirata Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant; and 4) Plan to develop 100 MW Jatigede Floating PLTS. This MoU is an important part of the bilateral agenda of the two countries which reflects a common vision in strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, food security, energy transition, security, and religious values. The meeting between Prabowo and MBZ is also a symbol of the close relationship between the two countries which has grown rapidly in recent years, especially in supporting sustainable development and cross-sector collaboration.
