The Panjang-Lematang Port Toll Project Potentially Stimulates Economic Growth in Four Regions in West Lampung

The Panjang-Lematang Port Toll Road project is planned to span 11.74 kilometres, to promote economic development in the West Lampung districts, encompassing West Lampung, Tanggamus, Pringsewu, and Pesisir Barat. The project will support the production of commodities in these areas, including agriculture, plantations, livestock, fisheries, forestry, and mining. Agricultural products include rice, corn, cassava, peanuts, green beans, vegetables, and fruit, while plantation products such as coffee, rubber, palm oil, coconut, and chocolate/cocoa are also produced. The livestock sector includes cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, and chickens, along with fishery products such as sea fish, freshwater fish, shrimp, lobster, and shellfish. The district also has potential for forestry, mining and tourism. Forestry products include teak and mahogany wood, rattan, bamboo, sap, rubber and pine sap. Mining products include granite, sand and limestone. The district has potential for natural tourism, including beaches and culture. The planned construction of the Panjang-Lematang harbour toll road is expected to facilitate the transportation of these commodities to Banten and Jabodetabek.
