The Acting Regent of Bekasi, Dedy Supriyadi, praised PT Gunung Raja Paksi (GRP) Tbk for its impressive contribution to both national economic growth and the improvement of Indonesia’s trade balance. Over the last three years, PT GRP has achieved a remarkable USD 87 million in steel exports. Dedy emphasized that PT GRP’s products, particularly Welded Beam steel, have played a significant role in the local and national industrial sectors. He also expressed pride in the company’s continuous efforts to maintain a competitive edge in the global market, and highlighted that the steel export to New Zealand marks a key milestone in Bekasi's industrial development.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso also commended PT GRP's success, noting that the company’s export of 1,200 metric tons of steel to New Zealand, valued at USD 1.5 million, benefited from the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which allows for a 0% tariff. This has opened up significant opportunities for Indonesia to supply steel for New Zealand's large-scale infrastructure projects. Minister Santoso further encouraged other Indonesian businesses to improve their product quality and expand into export markets, targeting a 7.1% increase in non-oil and gas exports.
