The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) recorded that the province's export value in October 2024 reached USD 303.94 million, reflecting a significant increase of 10.12 percent compared to September 2024 exports, which were valued at USD 276.02 million. Acting Head of BPS Sultra, Surianti Toar, stated that this increase highlights the significant potential of Southeast Sulawesi in foreign trade, as shown in the export statistics. Key commodities from Sultra, such as iron, steel, and various marine products, continue to dominate exports, with destinations spread across Asia and America. This export data is derived from the Export Notification Document (PEB) reported to Customs.

Additionally, the export volume of Sultra in October 2024 reached 212.64 thousand tons, up by 3.28 percent compared to the previous month, which recorded 205.88 thousand tons. Meanwhile, the import value for Southeast Sulawesi in October 2024 was USD 115.39 million, an increase of 0.71 percent from September 2024, though it was down 8.23 percent compared to October 2023. Import volume stood at 299.40 thousand tons, up 6.18 percent from the previous month but down 12.99 percent from the same period last year. The largest increase in imports was seen in mineral fuels, which rose by USD 13.16 million, or 19.14 percent, compared to September 2024.
