The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has announced that the October-December period is an optimal time for the export of palm oil derivative products. This projection comes after coordination with producers and business operators. Director of Essential Goods and Important Commodities at Kemendag, Bambang Wisnubroto, made the statement on Sunday (September 29, 2024). "We have coordinated with several stakeholders before making this projection," he said.
According to Bambang, the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) production is significantly influenced by export conditions. If exports are high, the production of DMO, or domestic oil, will also increase. He hopes that the projected improvement in exports will boost DMO realization, ensuring a greater supply of MinyaKita in the market. It is known that the price of cooking oil has been rising. According to Kemendag, the average price of MinyaKita is currently 7% above the highest retail price (HET).
