Director General of National Export Development, Mardyana Listyowati, detailed the Ministry of Trade's efforts to boost the export transactions of Indonesian products through the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2024. This event aims to directly connect international buyers with non-international markets in a business-to-business (B2B) format. "Trade Expo Indonesia serves as a platform for us to introduce our products to the international market and continue exporting abroad," said Mardyana during a press conference at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Tuesday (17/9/2024). TEI 2024 will be held from October 9 to 12, 2024, in BSD Tangerang, supported by Bank Mandiri and Privy to facilitate transactions. Mardyana targets the transactions at Trade Expo 2024 to reach USD 15 billion. Additionally, the event aims to attract 30,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors, expressing optimism that Indonesia can boost its export value. "We must be optimistic that we can increase exports with all our efforts, enhancing competitiveness and exploring new, non-traditional markets," she told the media. The expo, featuring unique Indonesian goods, targets the Middle East, particularly China, as its market, addressing issues affecting their sales.
Mardyana highlighted the shift from traditional markets like the USA and Europe to Africa, the Middle East, and specifically China. Key commodities offered include halal products in the form of food, beverages, and furniture. She emphasized Indonesia's push for bilateral, multilateral, and regional agreements to penetrate global markets. "Our representatives abroad will provide information on applicable regulations in their accreditation countries, which we will then socialize and convey to Indonesian businesses on how to open or penetrate these markets," she explained. The theme of the 39th TEI is "Build Strong Connection With The Best of Indonesia," aiming to forge strong and sustainable connections between high-quality Indonesian export producers and business markets worldwide.
