Widhi Asmoro Jati, ST, MT, Acting Head of Fakfak Plantation Office, has announced that Fakfak aims to achieve its nutmeg export target by the end of 2024. This plan is expected to positively impact the local economy and improve the welfare of nutmeg farmers. According to Widhi, reaching this target presents significant challenges. "We are currently inventorying various obstacles that are essential for export, such as ensuring the nutmeg quality meets international standards," he stated. The local government is preparing key aspects, including regulatory support, product standards, and export management. Additionally, special attention is being given to packaging, export mechanisms, and meeting high-quality nutmeg production targets to compete in the global market.
The export initiative is anticipated to enhance regional income and introduce Indonesia's superior nutmeg to the international stage. Widhi expressed confidence in the success of the export plan, stating, "We are optimistic that this export endeavor will proceed smoothly and provide substantial benefits for the people of Fakfak." The nutmeg exports from Fakfak are expected to be a strategic move in boosting regional revenue and showcasing Indonesia's premium commodities globally.
