Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized the high quality and competitiveness of products developed by technology-based startups. "We firmly believe that the products created by startups, which are fundamentally technology-based and of high quality, are game changers," he stated in Jakarta, as quoted on Friday, July 19.According to Startup Ranking data, as of January 2024, Indonesia boasts 2,566 startups, ranking sixth globally. This significant presence has contributed to the growth of Indonesia's processing industry and added value to its manufacturing sector, amounting to USD 255 billion. Agus also praised the contributions of startups to the growth of Indonesia's digital economy, which reached USD 82 billion in 2023 and is projected to increase to USD 110 billion by 2025. "We expect to push this figure to USD 110 billion by 2025 through the efforts of startups," the Minister added.
