Central Kalimantan has significant potential in the marine and fisheries sector, which is considered capable of becoming a key export commodity to enhance the local economy. Recognizing this potential, Governor Sugianto Sabran urges all stakeholders, such as the Central Kalimantan Provincial Marine and Fisheries Service (Dislutkan), to partner with exporters to optimize fishery exports. In line with Governor Sabran's vision, the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, through Dislutkan, participated in the Singapore-Indonesia Business Expo Forum 2024, held from July 15-16, 2024, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta. Darliansjah, Head of Dislutkan Central Kalimantan, who attended the event on Tuesday (July 16, 2024), stated that the provincial government collaborated with exporters from Central Kalimantan. "In this event, the provincial government partnered with exporters from Central Kalimantan who will directly engage with buyers from Singapore to introduce and sell products," he said.
The Singapore-Indonesia Business Expo Forum 2024 serves as a platform for Singaporean entrepreneurs to find suppliers, business partners, distributors, and agents in Indonesia. It also provides opportunities for Indonesian entrepreneurs, particularly those from Central Kalimantan, seeking opportunities in Singapore. The event was attended by several exporters from across Indonesia, including business actors from Central Kalimantan, such as BLUD UPT Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau dan Laut Shrimp Estate Kalteng, PT. Ali Giyono Bakut, and PD. Jaya Sakti. The interest of Singaporean buyers in Central Kalimantan's fishery products at this forum was high. This was evidenced by several Singaporean buyers showing interest in the marine fishery products presented by Central Kalimantan entrepreneurs. One notable company was Ocean Deli Pte Ltd., a frozen seafood company interested in Central Kalimantan's shrimp and crab products. Additionally, the ornamental fish, Botia, also attracted several Singaporean buyers. Furthermore, Darliansjah explained that, as per Governor Sugianto Sabran's expectations, business actors and investors, as well as the empowerment of marine and fishery enterprises through the export of marine and fishery products abroad, should proceed smoothly and as expected. This will contribute significantly to the development of the marine and fisheries sector, thereby boosting Central Kalimantan's economy and regional income.
