The South Kalimantan Provincial Trade Office (Disag Kalsel) is promoting and marketing export-potential products through an International Trade Mission. Head of the South Kalimantan Trade Office, Sulkan, stated that the provincial government is offering various export-potential commodities during this trade mission, including products from the fisheries, plantation, mineral, processed wood sectors, and top micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) products. “This is all the result of the hard work and innovation of the people of South Kalimantan, ready to compete in the global market,” said Sulkan in Banjarmasin, as reported by AntaraNews on Monday, June 24, 2024. Sulkan highlighted that South Kalimantan's fisheries sector boasts high-quality freshwater fish, while the plantation sector excels in producing palm oil, rubber, and various other agricultural products.

Additionally, the region's mineral wealth and processed wood industry are significant strengths, alongside MSME products which showcase high creativity and competitiveness. Sulkan urged MSME actors to fully utilize this opportunity to drive economic growth and improve the welfare of the people in South Kalimantan. “We can realize the vision of making South Kalimantan one of Indonesia's leading trade and investment hubs. With the spirit of togetherness and hard work, this can be achieved,” he said. He emphasized that South Kalimantan can expand its trade networks and open investment opportunities through this international trade mission. “We invite investors and trade partners from various countries to see firsthand the potential and advantages that South Kalimantan has to offer,” Sulkan added.
