Discussing Economic Cooperation, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Quickly Meets with Three Top Singaporean Leaders

After the conclusion of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) 2024 and the IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum on June 5-6, 2024, Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto swiftly capitalized on the momentum to conduct a series of meetings to boost economic cooperation. Starting the agenda on Friday (June 7), he commenced the day with a breakfast meeting with Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Gan Kim Yong before jointly leading the 6th Bilateral Working Group Meeting between Indonesia and Singapore. During this bilateral meeting, the leaders discussed agreements reached on technical issues within six working groups covering Special Economic Zones, Investment, Manpower, Transportation, Agri-Business, and Tourism. Minister Airlangga and DPM Gan led the discussions and achieved concrete outcomes in these areas.

The meeting with PM Wong lasted almost an hour, proving to be highly productive in addressing numerous sustainability issues for future bilateral cooperation. It was an extraordinary day as Minister Airlangga efficiently managed to attend the annual Bilateral Working Group meeting and engage with three of Singapore's top leaders in a single day, starting with DPM Gan Kim Yong, followed by a one-on-one meeting with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and concluding with a substantial meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Minister Airlangga was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso, Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryopratomo, and expert teams from the Ministry of Economic Affairs during these crucial engagements.
