Export activities of various commodities from East Java to the United States continue to thrive, with a significant demand for livestock feed and premix. Premix, a complex blend of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and other feed additives, is essential for large-scale livestock industries. A total of 152 tons of premix, valued at IDR 1.63 billion, underwent quarantine inspection before shipment through Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, on Tuesday (23/4), bound for the United States. Betty Fajarwati, Chair of the Animal Quarantine Task Force, explained that quarantine procedures, including physical inspections and document verification, were conducted to ensure the suitability of the premix for animal consumption.
These measures are crucial, especially considering the stringent regulations of advanced countries in safeguarding imported commodities. Meanwhile, Muhlis Natsir, Head of East Java Quarantine, emphasized the accommodation of exporters in the feed and livestock sectors, aiming to ensure the exported products' high quality and compliance with destination country requirements. This concerted effort not only boosts the reputation of Indonesian feed and livestock products but also positions them competitively in the global market.
