To Boost Exports, Ministry of Industry Brings 12 Indonesian Agricultural Machinery Industries to Morocco

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is facilitating 12 Indonesian agricultural machinery and equipment (alsintan) industries to participate in the 16th Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM) exhibition held in Meknes, Morocco. Sopar Halomoan Sirait, Secretary of the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industries (ILMATE) at Kemenperin, highlighted that Indonesia's participation aims to boost exports, particularly of high-tech industrial products. The SIAM exhibition presents an opportunity to enhance the market access of local alsintan products to non-traditional markets, leveraging Morocco's position as an economic hub in Africa and a gateway for trade with Europe. The participation of these industries aligns with Kemenperin's efforts to support the targets outlined in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024, particularly the goal of achieving a 13% contribution of high-tech industrial product exports by 2024. Among the 12 alsintan industries selected for participation are PT Golden Agin Nusa, PT CBA, PT Indobaja Prima Murni, PT D-Prix, PT Berkat Iman Mesin, PT Star Metal, PT Liga Landak Makmur, GENPRO, PT Cipta Agri Nusantara, PT Phonna Raya, PT Bahagia Jaya Sejahtera, and CV Mandiri Garlica Pratama. This initiative aims to revitalize the manufacturing sector by diversifying non-commodity export products, particularly high-tech manufacturing products.

Sopar expressed optimism that Indonesia's participation in SIAM Meknes will significantly boost the growth and performance of the ILMATE sector's exports. Furthermore, he hopes that industry facilitation and promotion at the exhibition will enhance the competitiveness of the ILMATE sector. Participation in SIAM 2024 is seen as crucial in shaping the industrial ecosystem. By engaging in international events like SIAM, Kemenperin aims to foster collaboration between Indonesia and various international partners, potentially leading to increased market access, investments, human resource development, research and development (R&D), and other forms of cooperation in Africa and Europe. SIAM Meknes expects to host 1,500 participants from 70 countries, targeting over 950,000 visitors to enhance collaboration among participants. Additionally, the exhibition will feature at least 40 conferences and business matching sessions, providing ample opportunities for networking and collaboration.
