Kepala Dinas Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Andhika Permata, highlighted the potential of the fashion sector to boost the economy of DKI Jakarta by 5.25% regionally, emphasizing its significant role in economic growth. Speaking at the opening of Indonesia Fashion Week 2024 in Jakarta on Wednesday, Andhika stated that nationally, the fashion sector contributed even more significantly, accounting for 7.5% of economic growth.
Furthermore, Andhika revealed that the value of services generated from fashion products or the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of DKI Jakarta's fashion sector in 2022 amounted to IDR 27.3 trillion, ranking third in terms of revenue among the sectors of the creative economy.
He also commended the Indonesian Fashion Designer and Entrepreneur Association (APPMI) for organizing Indonesia Fashion Week 2024 with the theme "Langgam Jakarta Teranyam," supported by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. He expressed hope that the event would enhance Betawi's traditional textiles to be creatively processed and add value to its creative production.
